What is normal after treatment?
Temporary effects at the injection sites can include:
Small raised bumps
Mild redness
Tenderness
Swelling
Bruising
A mild headache
Small injection-site bumps and redness usually settle quickly. Bruising may take several days to resolve.
You may also notice temporary tightness or a different sensation as the treated muscles begin responding.
When will I see my results?
Neurotoxin results develop gradually.
Early changes may become noticeable within several days.
Different muscles and treatment areas may respond at different times.
Temporary unevenness can occur while your treatment is taking effect.
Allow the full 14 days before evaluating your final result.
The degree and duration of improvement vary by product, treatment area, dose, muscle strength, metabolism, and individual response.
Avoid comparing your result from one day to the next. Photos taken in consistent lighting and from the same angle provide a more useful comparison.
Your two-week follow-up
Two weeks is the appropriate time to evaluate your result and determine whether a follow-up is needed.
Please contact Vital at the two-week mark if:
This was your first neurotoxin treatment with us
You have questions about your result
You notice persistent asymmetry
You feel one area has not responded as expected
Your clinician specifically requested a follow-up
Minor adjustments, when clinically appropriate, are considered only after the treatment has had adequate time to take full effect.
Contact Vital promptly

Significant eyelid or eyebrow drooping
An unexpected change in your smile or facial movement
New or increasing facial weakness
Persistent double or blurred vision
Significant eye dryness, irritation, or difficulty closing an eye
Increasing redness, warmth, drainage, pain, or other signs of infection
Hives, marked swelling, wheezing, or another possible allergic reaction
Symptoms that are severe, unexpected, or progressively worsening
Seek immediate medical care
Botulinum toxin products carry a boxed warning because their effects can rarely spread beyond the treated area. Symptoms have been reported hours to weeks after injection.
Call 911 or seek immediate medical care for:
Difficulty breathing
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty speaking clearly
Hoarseness or loss of voice
Widespread or unusual muscle weakness
Double or blurred vision accompanied by weakness or other neurologic symptoms
Loss of bladder control
Facial or throat swelling or another severe allergic reaction
These symptoms can be serious or life-threatening. Do not wait for a response to a routine message before obtaining emergency care. Notify Vital after emergency care has been initiated.

This aftercare guide provides general information and does not replace individualized medical advice. Instructions given directly by your treating clinician take priority.
Dermal Filler Aftercare
Your dermal filler treatment is complete. Swelling, bruising, tenderness, firmness, and temporary unevenness are common while the area heals and the filler settles.
These instructions apply to hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers, including Revanesse®. Follow any individualized instructions provided by Vital, as those instructions take priority over this general guide.
The First 24 Hours
Do not rub, massage, press, or manipulate the treated area unless specifically instructed by Vital.
Use a clean, cool compress for up to 10 minutes at a time to help with swelling and discomfort. Never apply ice directly to your skin.
Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that cause significant heat or sweating.
Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, hot tubs, and prolonged sun exposure.
Limit alcohol because it may increase swelling and bruising.
Keep the injection sites clean.
Apply makeup and skincare gently once the injection sites have closed. Use clean hands, brushes, and applicators.
Avoid facial rollers, gua sha, cleansing devices, facial massage, and other tools that place pressure on the treated area.
Sleep face-up with your head slightly elevated. Avoid sleeping directly on the treated area.
If you need medication for discomfort and it is safe for you, acetaminophen may be used as directed. Do not stop prescribed aspirin, NSAIDs, blood thinners, or other medications without guidance from the clinician who prescribed them.
