Neurotoxin Aftercare
You may return to most of your usual activities immediately after treatment. Follow these instructions to minimize irritation and bruising while your treatment begins to take effect.
These instructions apply to Daxxify® and Jeuveau®. If your treating clinician gave you individualized guidance, follow those instructions first.
The first 24 hours
Do not rub, massage, or apply firm pressure to the treated areas.
Apply makeup and skincare gently once the small injection sites have closed.
Avoid facial rollers, gua sha, cleansing devices, and other facial tools.
Avoid strenuous exercise, excessive heat, and significant sweating. This includes saunas, steam rooms, and hot yoga.
Avoid facials, facial massage, and other treatments that place pressure on the treated areas.
Limit alcohol because it may increase bruising.
As part of our post-treatment protocol, remain upright for four hours after your appointment.
You may gently wash your face, shower, smile, frown, and use your facial muscles normally.
Do not stop aspirin, NSAIDs, blood thinners, or other prescribed medications unless instructed by the clinician who prescribed them.
What is normal after treatment?
Temporary effects at the injection sites can include:
Small raised bumps
Mild redness
Tenderness
Swelling
Bruising
A mild headache
Small injection-site bumps and redness usually settle quickly. Bruising may take several days to resolve.
You may also notice temporary tightness or a different sensation as the treated muscles begin responding.
When will I see my results?
Neurotoxin results develop gradually.
Early changes may become noticeable within several days.
Different muscles and treatment areas may respond at different times.
Temporary unevenness can occur while your treatment is taking effect.
Allow the full 14 days before evaluating your final result.
The degree and duration of improvement vary by product, treatment area, dose, muscle strength, metabolism, and individual response.
Avoid comparing your result from one day to the next. Photos taken in consistent lighting and from the same angle provide a more useful comparison.
Your two-week follow-up
Two weeks is the appropriate time to evaluate your result and determine whether a follow-up is needed.
Please contact Vital at the two-week mark if:
This was your first neurotoxin treatment with us
You have questions about your result
You notice persistent asymmetry
You feel one area has not responded as expected
Your clinician specifically requested a follow-up

Call 911 or seek immediate medical care for:
Difficulty breathing
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty speaking clearly
Hoarseness or loss of voice
Widespread or unusual muscle weakness
Double or blurred vision accompanied by weakness or other neurologic symptoms
Loss of bladder control
Facial or throat swelling or another severe allergic reaction
These symptoms can be serious or life-threatening. Do not wait for a response to a routine message before obtaining emergency care. Notify Vital after emergency care has been initiated.

This aftercare guide provides general information and does not replace individualized medical advice. Instructions given directly by your treating clinician take priority.
The emergency language above reflects the boxed warnings and current safety information for Daxxify and Jeuveau. Before publishing, I would replace the bracketed urgent-contact line with the exact pathway you want patients to use.
